Ohio River Cabins
Come visit Derby, "Indiana's best kept secret", located in the Ohio River Highlands, where the rolling hills run to the river.
Enjoy the sunrise over the Ohio, watch the haze disappear from the Kentucky hills across the river, see the early morning stillness of the water come alive with the awakening of the day. See a variety of river commerce, river barges, bass fishermen plugging the shallows, cruisers and pleasure boats passing by, or you may be lucky enough to see the Delta, Mississippi or American Queen. Relax in the afternoon shade as the sun sets over the high ridge behind the cabins.
These cabins, located on the river's edge, are completely modern with fully equipped kitchens, gas heat and A/C. We invite you to come and experience the Ohio River in beautiful Perry County.
QUOTE FROM SPORTS AFIELD MAGAZINE - MARCH 2000 ISSUE
"THERE'S ONE IN EVERY STATE: A low-key town where genuine outdoorsmen go to immerse themselves in serious sporting pursuits. Where the prices are low, the people are friendly and the quality of the experience is unmatched." Derby, Indiana and Ohio River Cabins was the Indiana selection for both 1999 and 2000.

The river offers excellent crappie fishing spring and fall. Bass fishing is excellent with competitive tournaments almost weekly and the catfishing is always good. You may also fish the Rainbow Pay Lake to catch Stripers, Bluegill and even rainbow trout.
The 114 mile Cannelton pool of the Ohio offers endless opportunities for boating, with river marinas at Leavenworth and Rocky Point -- just 25 miles in each direction from the cabins. The boater will experience some of the most spectacular scenery in mid-America. You may also explore seemingly endless miles of navigable embayments on Oil Creek, Poison Creek, the Little Blue River and other tributaries. Water skiing conditions are generally unsurpassed: you can always find smooth water, even on a windy day.
Swimming and water sports are enjoyed off the dock (in season), or public beaches are also avaiable at German Ridge and Tipsaw Lake in the Hoosier National Forest. The National Forest also offers endless miles of hiking and mountain bike trails. You may also bicycle endless miles of country blacktop roads. Enjoy 25 mile rides on the flats of the river bottom or venture into the highlands near Buzzards Roost or German Ridge.
