Limited Edition History Book by Michael Rutherford
To commemorate the turn of the century, Michael Rutherford, County Historian, has written a manuscript of yet unpublished Perry County historical events and facts. To support Mr. Rutherford's ten years of research and writing, the Perry County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a limited edition Perry County Historical/Pictorial History book in connection with Turner Publishing Company and M.T. Publishing Company. This Commemorative Edition will preserve critical elements of Perry County history never before published in previous county history books. (Please see the table of contents outlined on the inside.) This standard library hardbound book will be beautifully bound with a full color cover and will include numerous black and white historical photos throughout its approximately 150 pages. M.T. and Turner Publishing companies have published similar books for the City of Jasper and Scott and Washington Counties.

Invitation to Submit Your own Photographs
The Chamber is inviting you to submit both current and historic photographs for possible inclusion with Mr. Rutherford's manuscript. While many photographs of the county have already been provided, additional historical photographs of Tell City are particularly desired. Please see the box on the inside which details the types of photos you may submit. There is no charge for having your photo in the book, however, all photos must be submitted by June 15, 1999 to be considered.

Please send original photographs or commercial reproductions with return postage. We will handle them with the care due them because of their age and return them after publication sometime next Fall. We ask you to write of affix your name and address to the back of each photograph. Each photograph must include names or a brief description of what is depicted with a date of the photo if possible. All captions placed with the photographs in the history book will include the name of the person or organization submitting the photo. All photographs will be reviewed for content and clarity by Mr. Michael Rutherford and the history book committee who reserve the right to select or reject any or all photographs to be used in publication.
